Despite a first half that contained opportunities for both teams, Beveren and Essevee pulled into peace with a scoreless intermediate position. Only around the hour did the first goal from the game fall. Stavros Gavriel kicked a measured cross by Joseph Opoku Overhoeks in Doel. The Cypriot was not much later in a similar position, but could not print and left room for Beveren to come alongside again.

That is exactly what the home team did. Guillaume de Schryver hung the signs again. For a long time his equalizer was not on the board, because Zulte Waregem climbed the lead again thanks to striker Tobias Hedl. Beveren, however, continued to fight for a result against the competition leader and shook a handsome remonte from his sleeve. Alexander Corryn and Kurt Abrahams scored quickly and delivered Beveren a fourth victory in a row.

Despite the defeat, Zulte Waregem remains the leader in the stand with 49 points.
