Jeweler Dekker in Zuidwolde was the victim of burglary last weekend. The owners estimate the damage to thousands of euros.
“The outside door is completely broken, it must be replaced anyway,” says owner Roelie Dekker. Together with her brother, Dekker runs a jewelry store in Zuidwolde and Staphorst. “We are now going to replace the door and see if it can be protected even better.”
Of the burglary of last weekend, there are also security images that the jeweler put on Facebook. Today he removed those images again, so as not to get in the way of the police investigation.
In the 35 years that the jewelers shops of the Dekkers exist, they have already broken into six times, twice the case has been raided. “They are just rats, those burglars. They only need a small hole to come in.”
Although it is the umpteenth time that Dekker has to do with a burglary, she cannot be discouraged. “Unfortunately, it is part of the profession, they are not cauliflowers that you sell. Recently the gold price has risen enormously, so then you know that this can happen again.”
