The NFL is considered one of the toughest sports players in the world. Six German professionals now have to experience that. The day of the squad is disappointing for you.

The competition in the National Football League (NFL) is known to be merciless: some German football professionals had to experience this. Despite the preparation that has been prepared, six of them threaten to go away in the fight for a place in the main squad at the beginning of the season.

According to matching media reports, the Fullback Jakob Johnson (Houston Texans), equipped with the experience of 70 league games, and also the hopeful kicker talent Lenny Krieg (Atlanta Falcons) missed the leap into the 53-man squad of her teams.

The same applies to the offensive Tackle Kilian Zierer (Cleveland Browns), offensive Lineman Leander Wiegand (New York Jets), Offensive Tackle Lorenz Metz (Tampa Bay Buccaners) and Tight End Maximilian Mang (Indianapolis Colts), all of which received the bad news on the cut -off date. Linebacker Julius Welschof had also been released by the Pittsburgh Steelers the day before.

However, all seven can still hope: As Free Agents, they are again available for all other teams in the NFL. In addition, the franchises from Wednesday are entitled to record free players in their extended training squad, the “Practice Squad”.

In the NFL, the teams have to reduce their squad to 53 players around one and a half weeks before the start of the season. Until then, the franchises in the season preparation can lead up to 90 players.
