According to the Daily Mail Ferguson had arrived at Old Trafford to watch the match between Manchester United and Liverpool. However, he began to feel unwell. The legend was taken from the stadium to the hospital in the afternoon local time.

Ferguson is the most successful manager in Manchester United’s club history. The club won 13 Premier League championships under him.
The legend retired from racing in 2013. He suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2018, but survived. There is no indication that Sunday’s malaise was related to a brain bleed.
