Sipke (69) is recovering in the UMCG from a hot air balloon disaster in De Hoeve. ‘Those reactions resulted in some swallowing moments’

Kaats referee Sipke Hiemstra (69) and his wife Eefje (67) from Easterein were seriously injured in the hot air balloon accident in De Hoeve on August 13. After about eleven weeks in the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), four of which were in a coma, and nine weeks of rehabilitation, Hiemstra comes home for Christmas.
