The stars of the tennis world met at the Six Kings Slam tournament in Riyadh. In the final, like last year, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz duke it out. This time the winner did not change. World number 2 Sinner won the grand prize by beating her opponent with sets of 6-2 and 6-4.
Sinner, who lost to Alcaraz in the US Open final last month, thus got his revenge.
Six players in the tournament — Sinner, Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and Stefanos Tsitsipas — earned $1.5 million for participating. However, with his final victory, Sinner also won the grand prize of 6 million dollars.
In other notable results of the tournament, Fritz eliminated Zverev within an hour; Sinner passed Tsitsipas just as easily. In the semi-finals, Alcaraz defeated Fritz; Sinner defeated Djokovic. In the third place match, Djokovic abandoned the match due to injury after losing the first set in the tie-break against Fritz.
