At Taliercio clear dominance of the hosts, who immediately canceled the stop against Trapani

October 18th – 10.30pm – MILAN

After the stop against Trapani, Reyer’s convincing response immediately arrived at the start of the third day of Lba. At the Taliercio Venezia crushed Trieste 102-66 thanks to an amazing team effort, which saw all the players on the scoresheet and four players – Cole, Wiltjer, Bowman and Nikolic – in double figures. Ramsey’s solid performance was of no use (22 points with 9/12 from the field), Gonzalez’s team only resisted for 20 minutes of play.

stellar rhythms

Ready to go and Wiltjer and Ramsey immediately light up: 7 points in the first 5 minutes of the match for both (without even a single error), Venice accelerates and Trieste stays in its wake. It was a start to the match played at a high pace, both teams created a lot and converted continuously, with 13 assists totaled in just the opening 10 minutes. In the second period Ramsey continues to produce – 15 points were collected at half-time – while the rest of Gonzalez’s team slowed down: Reyer raised her attention in defense and closed the area well, then capitalized on the counterattack. A couple of too many turnovers at the end of the first half prevented the hosts from creating a clear break, but the direction was the right one for Spahija’s men, who returned to the locker room ahead 46-38.

reyer domain

Despite a brief empty pass from Reyer in which triples from Ross and Toscano-Anderson seem to be able to bring Trieste closer together, in the second half the orogranatas continue to grind: Cole, Bowman and Nikolic are the protagonists of a 16-2 run that puts Venezia in total control, flying away at +23 (76-55) in the final stages of the third quarter. In the final, the guests finally broke up (only one field goal in the last period) and after losing Ross – who went out due to fouls – they left the field to Reyer’s showtime, who reached the maximum +36 advantage with Lever’s dunk at the end of the match: Spahija’s team won by a landslide at Taliercio 102-66.

Reyer: Cole 17, Wiltjer 15, Bowman 13, Nikolic 12
