Drama in Cincinnati: Tennis top star Jannik Sinner gave up after only 22 minutes in the final of the ATP master against his permanent rival Carlos Alcaraz.

At 0: 5 in the first sentence, Sinner called the physio at hot temperatures in Ohio, with damp eyes the world rankings explained that he felt “just too bad”. On the square, he had previously made a partially hair -raising mistake and worked weakly. Alcaraz comforted Sinner after his task.

Five weeks after the lost Wimbledon final, Alcaraz successfully revenge, while the constitution of Sinner, on the other hand, ranks a few days before the start of the US Open in New York (from August 24).

For Alcaraz, who defeated Sinner in five sets in an epic French Open final at the beginning of June, it is the 22nd title on the professional tour.

Hartplatz specialist Sinner starts as defending champion at the US Open – and should be back on the pitch on Tuesday. The South Tyrolean is registered for the mixed competition alongside the Czech Katerina Siniakova and is said to meet Germany’s top star Alexander Zverev and his partner Belinda Bencic.

A start seems completely unlikely. Alcaraz, who had switched off Zverev in Cincinnati in the semi -finals, starts with the British Emma Raducanu.
