November 11 has become one of the most important days of the year for retailers in recent years. Originally introduced in China, the so-called Singles Day is now also a fixed date in Europe. On this day, many retailers offer discounts and bargains. TECHBOOK has selected the best offers.
Many (online) retailers in Germany are taking part in today’s Singles Day. However, Amazon is not there, because the company is preparing for the equally important shopping day Black Friday at the end of November with its daily changing lightning offers. Nevertheless, bargain hunters can expect some interesting offers. Media Markt, Saturn, Otto, among others, but also Lidl, Aldi and many other shops have already announced campaigns for Singles Day.
Discounts and other promotions for Singles Day
Among others, the retailers Media Markt and Saturn, but also discounters such as Lidl and Aldi are granting discounts on many products on Singles Day. Media Markt and Saturn offer their Singles Day offers both online and in branches throughout Germany. According to the dealers, over 10,000 bargains are available for customers. Aldi and Lidl, on the other hand, sell online and also offer products from very different categories. At Lidl, Singles Day even lasts until tomorrow, November 12th.
The best bargains for Singles Day
Apple Watch Series 6 (GPS+LTE, 40 mm) for 499.43 euros (-9%)
at Kaufland you can currently get the Apple Watch 6 in the LTE version cheaply. The smartwatch comes in a 40 mm size, offers GPS support, a stainless steel case and a Milanese bracelet. It currently costs 499.43 euros, with Amazon offering the next cheapest price at 549 euros. Buyers can thus save a good 9 percent. The Apple Watch 6 is from 2020, so it’s a bit older. Nevertheless, it also runs with Apple’s current system watchOS 9, which brings some completely new functions to the smartwatch.
Galaxy Book 2 for 497.51 euros (-16.5%)
Saturn is offering the Galaxy Book 2 for Singles Day with a whopping 16.5 percent discount compared to the next cheapest retailer, Media Markt. At Saturn, the laptop is already available for 497.51 euros instead of 596.29 euros. Shipping is free of charge, but the device can also be picked up at a branch if desired.
The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 has been available in Germany since spring 2022 and offers a 15.6-inch display with Full HD resolution. Inside, an Intel Core i3 (1215U) works together with 8 GB of RAM and a 256 SSD. Windows 11 Home is installed as the operating system. The slim notebook doesn’t lack ports. There is an HDMI port, two USB-A and two USB-C ports, a headphone output and a microSD slot. WLAN is possible up to standard ax and Bluetooth is supported in version 5.1. There is an HD camera for video telephony and two integrated speakers with 2 watts each. All in all, the Galaxy Book 2 is a good laptop for the home office or for students.
Philips Hue White Ambiance E27 for 22.24 euros (-28.5%)
Fans of smart lighting will also find what they are looking for on Singles Day. With the Philips Hue White Ambiance E27, an entry-level LED is currently available at a huge discount of 28.5 percent. The LED bulb costs only 22.24 euros at Media Markt instead of 31.11 euros. The bulb has an E27 base and is dimmable. A Hue bridge or another compatible bridge with Zigbee support is required for the connection. The lamp can be controlled via app and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit.
Philips Hue with color change for 40.04 euros (-31%)
If you prefer color instead of white, you can also get the LED from Philips Hue from Media Markt and Saturn in a color-changing version. The lamp also has an E27 base and, like the version mentioned above, can be controlled via app and voice. In contrast to the above offer, shipping costs 2.99 euros.
SAMSUNG GQ65Q60A for 888 euros (-19%)
The Samsung TV GQ65Q60A is currently available at Media Markt at the lowest price. Small restriction, delivery does not take place in all regions of Germany. Interested parties should therefore check availability.
The Smart TV is a model with a QLED display and a 60-inch diagonal. It supports 4K and offers connections such as 3x HDMI, 2x USB 2.0, a CI+ interface, Ethernet and an antenna connection. Almost half the original price can be saved on the Switch game “Harves Moon”. The game is one of the most popular titles for the switch and normally costs more like 30 to 40 euros. It has no age limit and is roughly comparable to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Again, players have to grow vegetables on the field, interact with others and take care of animals. It is therefore the ideal cozy game for the dark season.
Singles Day originally comes from China. The Day for Single People is traditionally celebrated there on November 11th. Over time, it was picked up by retailers who use Singles Day for a wide variety of activities. On this day, restaurants offer special menu offers, clubs and karaoke bars attract with special events – and the dealers use the Singles Day for big discounts. November 11th is now just as important for online retailers in the Far East as Black Friday.
