Simple HFC victory, quick comeback yields Jong Volendam nothing and AFC defeat

Mixed results for the North Holland teams today in the second division. Royal HFC had an easy afternoon at Quick Boys after a quick red card: 0-4. Young FC Volendam seemed dead and buried, but came back 3-4 in the final phase and AFC lost to Rijnsburgse Boys: 1-3.

A defining moment quickly in the game: the red card for Chima Bosman – Orange Pictures/ Wim Wobbes

A hard foul by Chima Bosman on Sietse Brandsma after eight minutes led to a simple victory for Koninklijke HFC. Arbiter Te Kloeze gave the defender red. From the free kick that followed, Gerry Vlak put the lead on the board. The Haarlem-squad took advantage of the surplus situation again a few minutes later by making it 2-0. This time André Morgan was the goalscorer.

As a result, HFC was on roses within fifteen minutes. The afternoon became even more beautiful, after Brandsma scored the third goal after 22 minutes. In the second half, the Haarlem team was able to slow down a bit due to the large margin. In the end, Morgan made his second and the win tasted even sweeter. Youssef El Kachati got red in the final phase, but it didn’t change the final score.

Katwijk choked on Noordwijk (2-0), leaving HFC four points less than the leader.

Comeback Young FC Volendam

The first chance after three minutes was for Volendammer Koen Blommestijn after a pass from Milan de Haan. The top scorer’s bet went over. Not long after a shot by Jesper Drost over the goal of the Volendam team, HHC took the lead. Matías Jones broke the spell for the visitors. Even before half time, the margin of the club from Hardenberg was expanded by Gersom Klok: 0-2. Goalkeeper Kayne van Oevelen was unable to correct the error after a pass back that was too short. As a result, Klok was able to score his second goal of the afternoon in the second half.

Drost headed in on a pass from Thomas Reinders and then seemed to decide the game. In the final phase he made it 0-5, but this time Drost was flagged for offside. This blow hit HHC hard, because Volendam promptly came back all the way. Milan Zonneveld and Blommestijn made it 2-4 within two minutes. An own goal by Kevin Görtz caused sloshing armpits for the Hardenbergers. Despite this, the team eventually went home with the three points.

Due to the defeat, Kiki Musampa’s team is in fifteenth place in the second division.

Teaser Van der Moot

In the confrontation between Rijnsburgse Boys and AFC it was a long wait for the first opportunities. However, this was immediately hit via Dani van der Moot after a cross from Delano Asante. The visitors took the lead just before the end of the first half. Van der Moot tried again before halftime to outwit AFC goalkeeper Patrick Zonneveld, but this time the bet went just wide. After the break, the first danger came again via Van der Moot.

The shot did not go into AFC’s goal. Joël Tillema had a nice shooting opportunity in the counterpunch, but Wesley Zonneveld got the bet right in his hands. AFC tied the score after 79 minutes via Raily Ignacio. This could not be enjoyed for a long time, because Van der Moot scored after a counter: 1-2. Gévero Markiet still had a nice head chance, but Zonneveld made a good save. Van der Moot’s hat-trick was completed in stoppage time with a lob: 1-3.

AFC is in sixth place in the second division due to the defeat.
