The music mogul recalls being bored at school and protesting against his parents.

The bored little devil would come up with anything at any time. He was arrested once, among other things, after threatening a bus driver with a pea gun.

Cowell’s own son, Ericis now eight, so it’s no wonder if childhood memories come flooding back.

– I was horrible when I was Eric’s age. I almost burned the house down once. I was trying to prove to my brother that Santa isn’t real and I set fire to the goat’s fake beard I found, Cowell recalls.

And that’s not all. According to his words, Cowell managed to wreck his father’s car at the age of 10.

In spite of everything, the father was the more understanding and easier to appease of the parents. The father never raised his voice to his son.

– Now as a father myself, I am overprotective. I will never let my son move out of the house, I will live with him for the rest of my life, Cowell jokes.

For all his bluster, Cowell claims he was a shy child.

– Working in the music industry has broken the ice. I have become more social, the man says.

Eric’s mother is Lauren Silvermanto whom Cowell got engaged last January.
