The seventieth edition of the Silver Condor Awards It was held on the night of Monday, October 3, with the presence of the most emblematic actors and filmmakers of Argentine cinema. The Association of Cinematographic Chroniclers of Argentina distinguished the best of the national production of the year 2021 released in theaters or through the various digital platforms available in the country.
The big winner of this installment was “The silent dog”of Ana Katz being awarded as the best film of the year. In addition to the awards to Best Direction, Original screenplay (for the duo Ana Katz and Gonzalo Delgado), male revelation (Daniel Katz) and Carlos Portaluppi What Best Supporting Actor.
The entity, founded in 1942, recognized local documentary cinema: “A house without curtains”by Julian Troksberg and “Shards”by Natalia Garayalde shared the Silver Condor award for Best Documentary Feature Film.
For its part, “Karnwal”by Juan Pablo Félix, was awarded as the Best First Feature, for the performances of the Chilean Alfredo Castro and Monica Lairana . The award for Best Leading Actor fell on Leonardo Sbaraglia for his role in “wandering heart”.
The other favorite of the night was “The fugitive”of Natalia Meta. The film won the awards for Best Leading Actress for Erica RivasBest Adapted Screenplay for the duo Natalia Meta Y Leonel D’Agostino. Added to the recognition, in the technical areas, Best Direction of Photography (Bárbara Álvarez), Best Sound Design (Guido Berenblum) and Original Music (Luciano Azzigotti).
Three new awards were also presented for the first time during the ceremony. The Leonardo Favio Award which ended up in the hands of the notable Argentine director Adolfo Aristarain, 12-time winner of the Silver Condor; the Maria Luisa Bemberg Award to the outstanding producer vanessa ragoneand the Salvador Sammaritano Awardthe critic, teacher and researcher Fernando Martin Pena.
At the close of the ceremony led by Gabriela Radice films from the international scene were recognized. The winner for best co-production was the Spanish “coven”, by Argentine Pablo Agüero with local production by Campo Cine. On the other hand, the Best Ibero-American Film was “The Mole Agent”by the Chilean Maite Alberdi.
Finally, Osvaldo Laport He won his first Silver Condor for the song “Volveré” from the movie “Bandido”. The documentary “North Terminal”of Lucrezia Marteland fiction “Sycorax”of Matias Pineiro and Lois Patinowere chosen as the best short films of the year.
