After days of uncertainty, Silvana’s family received a message from the police on Wednesday morning that the body of their daughter, mother and sister was found on Tuesday evening near her hometown of Hoogeloon. “We are deeply affected and deeply saddened by this news,” the family said in a statement.
In the statement, the family thanks everyone involved in the search for Silvana.
“Police and many volunteers have done their very best to find her. We also received many sweet messages from friends, acquaintances and other people involved. We want to thank everyone who sympathized and searched. We are very grateful for this support,” they write.
The family asks for their privacy to be respected, especially for the benefit of the children, and would like to be able to process the events in peace.
Waiting for police investigation
The family is not making any announcements about the possible cause of Silvana’s death. They are awaiting the police investigation in this regard.
Silvana disappeared last Saturday. She hadn’t been heard from since then. The police arrested her 41-year-old ex-boyfriend shortly after she went missing. The examining magistrate extended his pretrial detention by fourteen days on Tuesday. Justice suspects him of murdering his ex-partner.
