Significant damage in island state of Tonga after volcanic eruption and tsunami

The north of Nuku’alofa, the capital of the island state of Tonga, was hit hard by the tsunami that started on Saturday after a submarine volcanic eruption in the Pacific Ocean. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced this in a press conference. The capital is said to be covered with a heavy layer of ash.
