The Russian ship, which entered the territorial waters of Georgia on January 7, was unable to leave the harbor of Batumi due to a storm. About it reported Maritime Transport Agency of the Ministry of Economy of Georgia on Facebook.
“Due to a strong storm, the ship lost the ability to maneuver and the waves began to bring it closer to the shore,” the report said. The agency noted that the ship managed to stop moving towards the coast.

Batumi emergency services helped turn the ship towards the sea and anchor. The Maritime Transport Agency remains in contact with the vessel and continues to monitor its position.
