Siemens Energy is considering closing Gamesa plants and offices – agency

According to an agency report, savings efforts at the wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa are apparently being intensified.

Parent company Siemens Energy is considering closing Gamesa factories and sales offices, which could lead to job cuts, reports the Reuters news agency.

Siemens Energy is looking for ways to reduce losses in the wind turbine business, including outsourcing the production of certain components such as rotor blades.

A spokesman for Siemens Energy referred to statements made by CEO Christian Bruch in August. He said at the time that stability at Siemens Gamesa was a priority and that Siemens Energy was looking at all options.

Via XETRA, Siemens Energy shares temporarily gained 1.57 percent to 11.64 euros.
