Sick Dylan Groenewegen stops competing in the tour of Saudi Arabia

Dylan Groenewegen has no longer left for the fourth stage of the Tour of Al-‘Ula in Saudi Arabia. The Jayco-AlUla sprinter has been struggling with stomach and intestinal problems for two days, his team reports.

Groenewegen finished in second place in the first stage on Tuesday. He opened his season in January with a win in the Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana and had his sights set on a win in Saudi Arabia, the country of his main sponsor.

Friday’s ride covers more than 142 kilometers from Hegra to Maraya. The Tour of Al-‘Ula lasts until Saturday.
