The American rapper Megan Thee Stallion spoke about one of the most traumatic incidents in her life in an emotional television interview. Namely about that summer evening in 2020 when she suffered several gunshot wounds. Specifically, multiple bullets injured her feet, requiring her to have surgery at the hospital.

Even then, she named Canadian rapper Tory Lanez as the perpetrator in an Instagram Live. He denies the allegations to this day, including on his song “Money Over Fallouts”. There he raps: “how you get shot in your foot, don’t hit no bones or tendons” – “How could you be shot in your foot without injuring bones or tendons”. In court, however, he could not dispel the suspicion against himself with this objection, he faces more than 22 years in prison.

In an interview with the presenter Gayle King from “CBS Mornings”, the rapper spoke in more detail about the course of events for the first time. According to her, the starting point was a party that she wanted to leave while her companion wanted to stay. A dispute ensued, which is said to have been “normal friendship stuff”. Then she got out of the car: “I get out of the car and suddenly it’s going really fast. All I hear is this man screaming.” The “man screaming” is Tory Lanez, according to Megan Thee Stallion. He is said to have shouted “Dance Bitch” before shooting her. The rapper tearfully says in an interview that she was terrified because she had never been shot at before.

Tory Lanez is currently out on bail. However, this was only recently increased by a court because he violated a protective order, according to which he is not allowed to approach Megan Thee Stallion more than 90 meters. The incident happened at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami, where he appeared as a surprise guest and ran into Megan Thee Stallion backstage.
