The boy was shot at a football field and shortly thereafter collapsed at his injuries. A day later a 16-year-old boy kept On suspicion of involvement.

Director Van der Hooft commemorates the victim in his message. “In recent years we have been able to make a meaningful path with him. Unfortunately, he died in the past week due to meaningless violence.”

He continues: “In disbelief, pain, incomprehension, anger, sadness and more superlatives there are, his family lives in the knowledge that there is no longer a future where he would develop further. With man and power, people are now looking at what happened and whoever is responsible for that. Only he will not come back with that.”

‘Just losers’

According to the school director, the death of the 17-year-old boy has ‘only losers’ and ‘the pattern of meaningless violence within the street culture’ must be tackled. “It is now happening in Southeast, but meaningless violence is rooted in our society, so also in other cities and villages in our country.”

The police have investigated a large -scale investigation into the fatal shooting.
