The French world-class tennis player Caroline Garcia gives up her racket. She officially announced this on Friday morning.

The 31-year-old wrote at the short message service X: “After 15 years of competition at the highest level and more than 25 years in which I have invested every second of my life for it, I have the feeling that it is time for a new chapter.
She has “a few more tournaments” in front of her, according to Garcia, but her 14th appearance at the sandplace grand slam in Roland Garros in a row will be her “last”. “To everyone from the tennis family who will be there: Let’s meet one last time to dream and fight together.”
Caroline Garcia was able to win her home Grand Slam twice in doubles (2016 and 2022), in singles the quarter-finals from 2017 was the highest of feelings. A single victory on Grand-Slam stage did not achieve her in Melbourne, Wimbledon or New York over the course of her career.
Garcia leaves the future open

Now she wants to put her “personal goals” in the foreground. She has not yet announced what plans the French woman pursue. Garcia initially wanted to focus on her last moments on the big tennis stage. The French Open begin for the 31-year-old on Sunday with the first round match against Bernarda Pera.
