Lennart Karl noticed in his debut against Auckland at the club World Cup. Not only because of its 1.68 meter height, but above all because of his carefree and cheeky playing style. The 17-year-old recently drew attention to himself in the preparatory games of the record champions. Karl is considered the greatest talent on the campus of FC Bayern. After his dream goal in the test game against Tottenham Hotspur the association extended its contract until 2028.

And in the 2-1 test game against the Grasshopper Club Zurich, the dress rehearsal in front of the Franz Beckenbauer supercup on Saturday, the right wing was involved in both goals-he first got it with a remarkable spacer himself (21st minute), he skilfully prepared the second for Jonah Kusi-Asreare (26th).

Scholl, Kurt, scratchy: Many talents did not make the breakthrough
Karl should also be aware that the step from the test game hero to regular Bundesliga player is a pretty big one. Many were celebrated as a new star player at Bayern Campus – and ultimately failed quite soundless. There are enough examples: Lucas Scholl was considered a great talent, Pep Guardiola promoted him, let him train with the professionals – but the big breakthrough failed to do so. Likewise, Gianluca Gaudino, Sinan Kurt, Fiete Arp and Oliver Batista Meier were the same.

But there are also players who managed to play in the professional squad as FCB young players: Josip Stanisic, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Jamal Musiala. Musiala is – despite his injury – The most valuable player in the league with a market value of 140 million euros.
Hope with the fans is great that Charlemagne could be the new musiala. He has already taken over his number 42. FC Bayern sees Karl, who has been on the campus since 2022, more as a back-up for wing strikers Michael Olise, who is often compared to Franck Ribéry from his way of playing. No leading role, but a good basis for the next step in the career.
