At exercises in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, Russian ships and aircraft will practice defeating mock enemy ship groups, firing at sea and air targets using artillery and anti-submarine weapons.
More than 15 warships of the Pacific, Northern and Black Sea fleets, over 30 MiG-31K aircraft with Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and Tu-22M3 long-range bombers are participating in the maneuvers.

In addition to exercises in the Mediterranean, the Navy is working out combat training missions in the waters of the Okhotsk, Black and Barents Seas. In total, over 140 ships and support vessels, more than 60 aircraft, 1,000 units of military equipment and about 10,000 servicemen are involved in the exercises, the Defense Ministry said. The department added that the exercises are planned.
