Shock effect is not forthcoming with poor Omlandia Ten Boer in make-up game against Noordwolde

The make-up game between Noordwolde and Omlandia, important in the battle for enforcement, ended in a deserved 3-1 victory for Noordwolde.

Although both clubs are not in good shape, there is less unrest at Noordwolde than at Omlandia. Noordwolde coach Elsin Yilmaz recently signed up for a year, while the trainer of the team from Ten Boer was fired a week ago. Marcel de Groot, who had indicated in December to stop after this season, was disappointed to hear that Omlandia saw too little perspective to finish the season with him.

Simon Schuil, who already had Omlandia under his wing for the previous two seasons, can now try to secure the third division. Unfortunately for the Ten Boersters, who were plagued by injuries, there was no shock effect to be seen in the first game under his leadership.

Under average

,,The first half was below par from our side”, said Schuil. ,,We knew that Noordwolde was very dangerous at set pieces and yet we made too many unnecessary fouls. For example, that resulted in the second goal. And we also didn’t get enough out of the supply to their strong point Marco Vos. After the break, there was at least more life in it for us. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get any results out of it.”

Noordwolde was the parent team in the first company. The hosts desperately need the points and everyone on the pitch was aware of that. After a first chance for Vos (shot over the goal) it was a hit after fifteen minutes of play. Vos saw his shot deflected by Omlandia goalie Arjan Riesebeek, but Jurriaan Kempen was accurate in the rebound: 1-0.

Robbert Veldman could have equalized ten minutes before the break, but his advance towards goal was stopped at the last minute by a clever tackle from Robert Holtvluwer. In the last five minutes before the halftime signal, Noordwolde had three more great chances.

The first resulted in a goal that was disallowed for offside. The second was also hit but counted. A free kick from Dannick Meima went straight into the goal through a tangle of players: 2-0. The third was knocked out of the corner with a reflex by Riesebeek.

Three-pointer

Shortly after the restart, Veldman brought hope back to the visitors by scoring the tying goal from close range: 2-1. Omlandia then went on the hunt for the equalizer with a lot of experience but without much ingenuity. It therefore did not yield any real great opportunities. It is not for nothing that the team has only scored seventeen goals this season. Noordwolde striker Vos has scored only two less on his own.

Fifteen minutes before the end, Dannick Meima closed the game on a pass from Vos, who had already hit the crossbar himself shortly before: 3-1. Noordwolde takes some distance from the direct relegation places through the three-pointer.

Noordwolde-Omlandia 3-1

Scoring progression: 15. Kampen 1-0, 42. Dannick Meima 2-0, 48. Veldman 2-1, 76. Dannick Meima 3-1.
