Shirin David and Helene Fischer release “Atemlos” remix – good idea?

On Tuesday (November 21st), Shirin David and Helene Fischer published a video on their respective Instagram pages in which they announced a new version of Fischer’s hit “Atemlos”. The remix will include rap parts by Shirin David and is scheduled to be released on Thursday (November 23rd) at midnight. The announcement is already creating a mixed mood online.

Genre fusion: rap meets hits

The video shows the singers during studio recordings and thus excerpts from the process of creating the new song variant. David also explains that she feels honored to be able to work with Fischer and later presents part of her rap part.

“This is such a huge inspiration for me. […]That I can be a part of it is so awesome for me because it’s your (Helene Fischer’s) baby. This is a dream!”

The majority of the two’s fans showed their excitement about the feature in the comments on the shared video. But some hit fans also criticize Helene Fischer for her plans. One user wrote: “Why are you ruining the song? Helene Fischer, I’m a huge fan of yours, but how can you slip like that?” Further skeptical comments can be found below.

“Atemlos” is one of the pop singer’s most successful songs. Fischer originally published this in November 2013. The new version of the track is intended to celebrate the track’s tenth anniversary.

The duo will perform the new “Atemlos” version live on November 25th in Thomas Gottschalk’s last “Wetten,dass..?” edition. The presenter revealed this in his own podcast “Die Supernasen” at the end of October.

You can also see David live beforehand, as the 28-year-old is currently on her first tour. As part of this, the “Gib Ihm” rapper will play two of the ten shows in Berlin and Hamburg.
