She conquered the Everest, braved the deadly K2 and stood at the top of the treacherous Annapurna – but her last climb became fatal. Klára Kolouchová (46), one of the most inspiring women in international mountaineering and known from the Netflix documentary 14 Peaks, died on the Nanga Parbat in the Himalayas in Pakistan. Her death not only leaves a void in Alpinism, but also shocks a world that knew her as a pioneer, mother and unyielding power in a sport dominated by men.
