All administrations in Khuzestan, Ishafan, North Khorassan and Kerman provinces were closed on Tuesday due to the sandstorm. Government offices, courthouses and schools are also closed for 24 hours in Tehran and Alborz provinces.
Sandstorms are common in Iran and cause a lot of air pollution. They are also harmful to health: they cause respiratory problems in humans and often hospitalizations.
