Those who voted no to NATO in 1986, those who were left wanting and especially their grandchildren gathered in Madrid to shout no to NATO. Collectives to the left of the PSOE of Spain and Europe filled the Paseo del Prado with the traditional cry of “No NATO, bases out”, but also “lords of war, out of Madrid”.
The march has taken place in a festive tone but with a strong police surveillance, with searches of the buses that left from all over Spain to Madrid, as happened with those that came from Bilbao, and to remove flag poles, as happened to the group in which the MEP and co-founder of Podemos Miguel Urban was.
Willy Meyer was seen among the attendees, but at least at the beginning of the march Enrique Santiago (Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda and Secretary General of the Spanish Communists) was not there, but the express participation, with their corresponding banners, of UI and PCE.
