Dogfish and spiny dogfish are common in our region. The body of such a shark is smooth and elongated. The fish grows to more than seventy centimeters in length and weighs up to three kilograms.
The sharks that have now washed up on our coast may be bycatch of fishermen, who threw them overboard after hauling in the nets. At least they weren’t injured.
