Several senior employees have announced their departure from Twitter. They are leaving due to the uncertainty surrounding the intended acquisition of the company by billionaire Elon Musk. It is still unknown if and when the takeover of Twitter will go ahead. An amount of converted 42 billion euros would be involved.
Ilya Brown and Katrina Lane, vice presidents of the product management division and Twitter Service, respectively, are leaving the company. Max Schmeiser, the head of data sciences, also draws his conclusions.
Less than a week ago, Twitter made significant changes to its organization. Two top executives were fired as a result. Twitter also made budget cuts. Recruitment of new staff is currently frozen, but layoffs are not planned. CEO Parag Agrawal told his employees in an email that the company is facing an efficiency boost.

Musk says Twitter must first provide evidence about the number of fake accounts before the takeover can go through. According to the company, this is less than 5 percent of daily active users, but Musk estimates that percentage is much higher. Until there is more clarity about this, the deal is ‘on hold’.
Musk also allegedly asked the SEC to evaluate the numbers of Twitter users. The company itself indicated that it had exaggerated in the number of active users in the past three years.
