Hot night for the fire department! While cars were burning in Charlottenburg and Kreuzberg, a Dixi toilet was on fire in Friedrichshain.
Late on Monday evening around 10:45 p.m., the fire brigade moved to Reichenberger Strasse in Berlin-Kreuzberg out.
Residents had called the emergency services because there were flames from a Mercedes SUV. Despite swift extinguishing work, the car could not be prevented from being totaled, the police said on Tuesday.
The next mission a little later. Around 12:30 a.m., a passer-by discovered in Sybelstrasse Charlottenburg a burning Smart and called the fire department. The emergency services extinguished.
However, an Opel parked behind was damaged by the heat. The Smart burned out completely.
In both cases, the police are investigating on suspicion of arson.
On Rigaer Strasse Friedrichshain At around 1.30 a.m. a portable toilet caught fire. The fire brigade was able to prevent the fire from spreading to an adjacent car. State security is investigating.
