No more, over, over: Black Sabbath set an emotional end of her career with her appearance on July 5, 2025 in Birmingham. Black Sabbath’s setlist? No surprise, but more about that. All in all, it was a very long concert day with many bands, many surprises, a lot of prominence. So great Slayer, Metallica, Gojira and everyone else were – of course you were eagerly waiting for the Prince of Darkness and his bandmates. They are rightly considered the inventors of the heavy metal and are courted by all sides. Honor who was born.
It was clear that Ozzy would sit – too struck and fragile is his health. After all, he sat on a throne in style, and one with bat decorations. It was also clear that it would be emotional. At first there was a solo set of him with band: five songs-“I don’t know”, “Mr. Crowley”, “Suicide Solution”, “Mama, I’m Coming Home” (no eye stayed dry here at the latest) and finally “Crazy Train”.
And then Black Sabbath came. One last time. The giants and inventors of the metal. For the first time since 2004 with Bill Ward at the drums. Geezer Butler, solid as always. And then of course the reef lord, one of the greatest guitarists in rock history: Tony Iommi. And ozzy? He triumphed. It didn’t need a big singing performance – it was enough that he was there. He sang the songs. He held out. A few months ago you would have thought your pure appearance was a miracle.
Black Sabbath wouldn’t play long, you knew that. In the end there were four songs. The setlist made sense: “War Pigs” was the opener, then you went into “NIB”, with an extensive outro. The band’s biggest hits followed, “Iron Man” and then, as the last song, “paranoid”. Reduce one last. The grandmasters and pioneers of the heavy metal left the stage, almost safe forever.
The first videos and photos are already circulating on the Internet.
