Xavier Naidoo played the first of two comeback shows in Cologne on December 16th. The setlist contained a total of 25 songs, which gave an overview of his entire musical career. The 54-year-old performed in the Lanxess Arena under the tour title “Bei meine Seele”. After things had become quieter around the singer in recent years due to allegations of anti-Semitism and racism, he now returned to the stage at the event.
At the beginning of the concert, Naidoo addressed himself with the words “Where have you been all these years?” to his enthusiastically responding audience. He later explained: “I’m here because of you!” He opened the evening with the songs “By my soul”, “Seine Streets” and “Are you interested in life”.
But there are also quite a few of his fans to whom the musician never had to apologize for his oaths. Some concertgoers posted comments on pictures of the full Lanxess Arena like “Hello system press! Xavier Naidoo did that without you!”

Xavier Naidoo’s last officially recorded longer appearance took place almost exactly six years ago in the Festhalle in Frankfurt. Now the pop singer with a penchant for conspiracy theories, from which he recently appeared to have purified himself, dared to make a comeback – based on the pictures and videos circulating on the Internet, fans should at least consider this a success.
Oliver Pocher was apparently also there live in the audience and celebrated Xavier Naidoo as “by far the best singer” that Germany has to offer. “They tried to cancel, but talent and ability always prevail!” enthuses the comedian about the controversial musician. Both have obviously been getting along well for a long time.
