Another false report about Seth Rogen’s death is circulating – this time on X, triggered by a clickbait site. A possible connection to “The Boys” season 5 is discussed.
Canadian-American actor and comedian Seth Rogen has once again become the target of viral death reports. As in the past, the reports turned out to be misinformation.
Rogen, known for comedies like “That’s the End” as well as his role as a voice actor and producer, is regularly a topic of conversation – not least through statements on talk shows. He is said to have told US presenter Jimmy Kimmel that he once woke up in Paris after consuming excessive cannabis without being able to remember how he got there. According to observers, such anecdotes contributed to his public, somewhat uncontrollable image.
Viral messages on X
On April 29, 2026, X posts spread on the platform stating that Rogen had died at the age of 44. The reports quickly triggered a widespread reaction on social media. For example, one user wrote: “Why do I see posts as soon as I wake up saying that Seth Rogen died? Don’t make fun of me.”
According to several users, the origin of the false information was identified as the website “PageSharrt”, which can be assigned to the clickbait genre. There it was said that Rogen – “known for his roles in ‘Invincible’ and ‘Paul'” – had died. There was no independent verification of the exact wording at the time of reporting.
Possible connection with “The Boys”
Several users on X expressed the suspicion that the false report was related to the Amazon series “The Boys”. In the fifth season of the show, Seth Rogen is supposed to play himself and die in a fictional shootout as the story progresses. It is conceivable, according to speculation, that the website operators took this circumstance as an opportunity for the misleading publication. This theory has not yet been proven.
Not an isolated case
Similar reports about the actor’s death had already made the rounds in 2025. At that time, a corresponding “RIP Seth Rogen” page was said to have generated around a million interactions before the reports were denied. A statement at the time said Rogen “joined the long list of celebrities who have fallen victim to this hoax” and that he was “still alive and kicking.” An official denial of the current report was pending at the time of going to press.
