Gülcan Kamps Opens Up About Her Painful Loss
Berlin – Behind the apparent happiness of Gülcan Kamps (43) lies a story of heart-wrenching loss. When she was 33, the TV presenter became pregnant for the first time, but she was unable to hold her baby. Now, she bravely shares her journey filled with hope, anxiety, and setbacks in pursuit of her family dreams.
A Long and Emotional Journey
Today, Gülcan Kamps is a proud mother of two, but it took nearly a decade to reach this point. She recently revealed on Instagram that her initial pregnancy did not bless her with the joy of holding her newborn. “The entire journey from wanting a child to actually having one has very little to do with wishes,” she stated. Instead of excitement, the dream of her own family often pushed her to her emotional limits, marking the experience as “extremely emotional in every regard.” Until now, she had remained silent about much of the pain she endured.
Reflecting on her journey with the media, Gülcan expressed, “The sadness over a loss is difficult to put into words. At the same time, the joy of life with my children today is incredibly great. Both can coexist.”
Perseverance Through Adversity
Gülcan hinted back in May about the harsh realities of her path. “Ten years ago, the real desire for a child first awoke in me,” she reminisced. The road was not just rocky, but “bouldery.” Yet, she never gave up on her dream. Today, her gratitude outweighs any lingering sadness. Gülcan describes the reward that came from her persistence as “extremely beautiful, incredible, and fascinating!”
Through her candid words, she wishes to encourage women who also have a strong desire for children. “Never give up,” she emphasizes. Reflecting on her past, she considers every setback a piece of the puzzle leading to her two wonderful children. “Back then, I was very sad. I allowed myself to feel that sadness and gave it the space it needed.”
The Joy of Motherhood
Since 2004, Gülcan has been in a relationship with entrepreneur Sebastian Kamps (45). The couple tied the knot in a live wedding televised on ProSieben in 2007. Their first child was born at the end of 2021, and they are expecting their second in April 2026, keeping their children’s names and genders a secret.
Gülcan’s reflection encapsulates hope: “At some point, I found new strength and kept believing in my dream of a family. Today, I am endlessly grateful that I never lost that faith.” Her journey sheds light on the complexities of motherhood, illustrating that amidst profound loss, hope and joy can bloom anew.
In today’s world, where many women share similar struggles, Gülcan Kamps stands as a beacon of resilience and encouragement, inspiring others to keep believing, no matter the adversity they face.
