Pescara starts strong, eating Juventus Next Gen in the Adriatic with a super first half: brace from Cuppone – good at exploiting Hujisen’s uncertainties – and goal from Accornero (first goal among the pros) to essentially close the accounts after 45′, then Guerra’s Juventus goal didn’t reopen the match. An excellent start for Zeman, expected on the second day of the big match in Perugia. In group C, unexpected crash from Avellino in front of 7,000 spectators: Daniele Di Donato’s Latina (2-0) passes Partenio-Lombardi, who scored in the first half with the former Fella from a lineout and then in the final with Fabrizi’s winning counter-attack, to punish Rastelli’s team biased forward (the post hit by Gori, who came on from the bench). The 2-2 draw between Cerignola and Messina was eventful: Malcore’s brace frustrated the Sicilian advantage scored by Tropea, then – in the final, with the Apulians in ten due to Leonetti’s expulsion – equal scored on a free-kick by Marco Firenze.
