The league leaders allow themselves a rest, the guests take advantage of it and jump into third place with Renate scoring three away from home for Valente’s team. One by one of the Nerazzurri kids at Cittadella
The midweek round of group A surprises with the simultaneous defeat of the top three in the standings. Starting from Vicenza, firmly in command with a 16 point lead but also a little distracted given that they lost their second consecutive match at home: Trento passes (3-2) at Menti with goals from the former Capone and Jacopo Pellegrini (super brace), Rauti and Stuckler sign the reaction but it’s not enough. As mentioned, however, the slide is painless for Fabio Gallo’s league leaders. In fact, Brescia also fell at Zanica, AlbinoLeffe’s pitch: punished in an open field by Sali, Corini’s team struggled to find continuity (they conceded goals in 5 games in a row and haven’t won away for more than a month). Brescia now has a 5-point advantage on the third step of the podium, where the duo formed by Trento and Renate dominates the direct clash in Lecco. The great former Luciano Foschi in fact gives a clear 3-0 to Zanellato and his teammates: Delcarro breaks the balance, then Calì’s penalty closes the score before Karlsson’s hat trick. In any case, the race for third place remains very open. Alcione also believe in it (who equalized with Giana, in the first half a penalty saved by Zenti against Renault) and Cittadella, who reached Inter U23 at 1-1 thanks to Rabbi’s sixth goal in the last four matches. Novara joins the playoff train again, passing with authority on the Virtus Verona field led by Nicolò Ledonne (goal and assist).
salvation clashes
—
Between Ospitaletto and Pro Patria it ends 0-0 as in the first leg, but the hosts have to complain (Messages crossbar, among various occasions) despite the sixth consecutive useful result. After just one point in the previous 5 games, Arzignano comes back to life, moving on to Lumezzane and putting the playout zone behind them: Mirco Moretti’s splendid overhead kick decides the opening goal, then goalkeeper Manfrin seals the result against Caccavo. Pergolettese is also trying to get out of trouble, making a big comeback: against Pro Vercelli they get their fourth win in the last five days, Milesi scores with a header and Petrovic on the restart (Comi shortens too late). After four defeats in a row, Dolomiti Bellunesi also rises again, beating Triestina (by now desperate) in a daring match: Burrai scores the final 3-2 on a penalty but, again from the spot, in full injury time Vertainen is hypnotized by Consiglio.
