The new “Puma Orbita Hi-Vis” debuted on the 12th matchday, with the aim of making the ball always visible for players and spectators

November 23 – 3.41pm – MILAN

The novelty immediately caught the eye. And it couldn’t be otherwise, given that never in Serie A (apart from exceptional cases of snowfall) had it been decided to use a ball of a shade higher than yellow in the color scale. The debut, starting from the 12th matchday, of the new “Puma Orbita Hi-Vis” immediately aroused curiosity due to its fluorescent orange color. But because Serie A chose a ball of a tone that in the past was only used in cases of extreme weather conditions.

Serie A, because the ball is orange

It was the technical sponsor of the championship who proposed this shade, to change from the classic yellow that fans had been accustomed to for over a decade (the famous chorus of teasing from Fiorentina fans to Inter players during a 4-1 win in February 2013). The aim is always to have a better view in all weather conditions, in this case thanks to an even more impactful color which makes the ball always visible for players and spectators. However, this is not the only novelty of the “Puma Orbita Hi-Vis”: it is equipped, in fact, with a technology that limits water absorption and allows it to maintain optimal shape and performance.
