Serie A: Next setback for SSC Napoli against AS Roma

Milan clubs ahead in the title race

SSC Napoli once again lost important points to the top clubs from Milan in the title race of the Italian Serie A. The third-placed team only drew 1-1 (1-0) against AS Roma at home on Monday. Stephan El Shaarawy (90+1) equalized the opening goal by European champion Lorenzo Insigne, who scored a penalty in the eleventh minute, in added time. The visitors deserved the equalizer. Most recently, Napoli lost 2-3 at home to Fiorentina.

With 67 points after 33 of 38 matches, Napoli are now four points behind leaders AC Milan and two behind Inter Milan. Defending champions Inter have also played one game less. Behind record champions Juventus Turin, who has 63 points, follows AS Roma coached by José Mourinho with 58 points in fifth place.
