Status: 07.01.2023 10:50 p.m

Juventus Turin has extended its winning streak in Serie A – but is still unconvincing in the new year. For Inter Milan it was only enough for one point.

Italy’s football record champions Juventus won against Udinese Calcio 1-0 (0-0), Brazilian World Cup participant Danilo ensured shortly before the end (86th) for Juve’s eighth league win in a row.

Turin (37 points) took second place in the table behind leaders SSC Napoli (41). On Sunday (January 8th, 2023) champions AC Milan (36) could pass again in the game against AS Roma.

Recent arduous victories

Juventus have won every league game since mid-October, making up for a poor start to the season. After the World Cup break, the victories at US Cremonese (1-0) and now against Udine seemed extremely difficult.

Just one point for Inter Milan

Inter Milan (34) missed important points in fourth place, the cup winners did not get more than 2: 2 (2: 1) at newly promoted AC Monza due to a late goal. Matteo Darmian (10th) and Argentinian world champion Lautaro Martinez (22nd) scored for Inter, Patrick Ciurria (11th) and former Bremen player Luca Caldirola (90th + 3) each equalized. In stoppage time, Monza even had chances to win.

Pablo Mari made his comeback from the start for the hosts, the club of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The Spaniard was injured in a knife attack in a supermarket at the end of October and had to have an operation. A man was killed in the attack by a 46-year-old Italian, Mari was one of five injured.
