Almost 60.5% of the referendum participants in Serbia supported the idea of amending the country’s Constitution. This was stated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, transmits news portal.
This result was taken after processing 97% of the ballots, he specified.
According to preliminary data, 39.5% of the voting participants were against the introduction of changes. Another 1% of the votes were invalidated.
According to the president, the turnout in the referendum was about 30%.
Vučić congratulated the Serbs on the results and stated that the citizens had done a “good deed” for the country. He noted that the residents showed commitment to the principles of democracy. According to Vučić, Serbia showed a very positive image to the world community, and there were no serious problems during the voting.
