Former Chairman of the International Football Association Sepp Blatter is again in court.
Blatter and former European Football Association of Uefa Michel Platini arrived at the trial in Mutenz, Switzerland on Monday. The 88-year-old Blatter, who was fragile with the assistant, was recorded in images of international media.
The two are accused of fraud and corruption at a time when they chaired the football associations.
Blatter and Platini lost their position in the leadership of the football world ten years ago when the authorities began to investigate strange money between the two. The account information revealed that Blatter had paid Platin more than EUR 2 million in FIFA’s money. They were accused of, among other things, embezzlement and accounting offense.
After years of trial, the Swiss judiciary issued a liberating sentence in 2022. The prosecutor appealed against the decision. Thus, Platin and Blatter’s money transactions will be re -processed in court this week.
Both Blatter and Platini convinced their innocence to the media before the start of the court. According to Blatter, he paid Platin in accordance with consulting fees.
The judgment of the proceedings now is expected to come by the end of this month.
