On Friday afternoon, a trailer truck rolled over a cyclist in Lichtenberg and seriously injured him.

The accident happened around 2:50 p.m. on Frankfurter Allee at the corner of Buchberger Strasse. According to the police, the 35-year-old driver of a semi-trailer wanted to turn onto Buchberger Strasse when he collided with the 55-year-old cyclist who was driving straight ahead in the same direction on the cycle lane.

The 55-year-old fell off his bike and was then hit in the legs by the front right wheel of the tractor. The cyclist received first aid on site from an ambulance and paramedics and was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Frankfurter Allee was closed at Buchberger Strasse until the evening hours due to investigations by a special commissioner for traffic offenses.
