Second most expensive villa ever sold in Knokke for 14 million euros. Out of necessity? Ex-owner was fined millions for bribery of Monaco police

In Knokke, no less than 14 million euros has been paid for a villa, immediately the second highest housing amount ever in the chic seaside town. Possibly the (former) owner of ‘Villa Fairway’ – Pierre Salik (92) – needed some extra money. The emperor of the jeans was obliged two years ago to a settlement of millions after he bribed some Monegasque police officers and officials with a Porsche, among other things, in exchange for a tax-free domicile address.
