Second division: AFC turns the duel in the final phase, Admiral doubles torments OFC

AFC was the only North Holland player to take the three points today. The team from Amsterdam needed two late goals for the victory over FC Lisse: 3-2. OFC held out against Spakenburg for almost 75 minutes, but then saw Luuk Admiraal score twice: 0-2. Young FC Volendam lost against leader Quick Boys: 4-2.

63′ Raily Ignacio 1-1
73′ Jaap Zwetsloot 1-2

Within the first fifteen minutes, AFC had three chances. First it was Raily Ignacio, who shot over from a cross. Then Björn Mussche almost scored an own goal, but it was processed by Erik Cummins. In the end, a header went over half a meter. Cummins had to step in again after a good chance for Ignacio. FC Lisse didn’t get a big chance before half time. Immediately in the second half, the team from the Bollenstreek scored out of nowhere.

Jeffrey Klijbroek was devastating after a falling ball: 0-1. Enzo Stroo could even double the margin, but goalkeeper Gijs van Zetten saved. Raily Ignacio then equalized. However, it was Jaap Zwetsloot who gave Lisse the lead again. For a long time, the PhD student seemed to be taking the points with him from Amsterdam. AFC equalized just before time due to a goal by Matthijs Jesse. In stoppage time it even became 3-2 due to a late goal by Joel Tillema.

AFC is fifth with eighteen points, four less than leader Quick Boys.

OFC – Spakenburg 0-2

73′ Luke Admiral 0-1
89′ Luke Admiral
0-2

At OFC against Spakenburg it took a while before the match started. After half an hour, Masies Artien had a big chance, but his shot was turned by Daniel Agyei. It was Floris van der Linden, who became dangerous a few minutes later. This time the bet went over the goal via an OFC player. Just before half time, Spakenburg had three more big chances. First, Vince Dekker’s bet was turned, after which Robin Eindhoven passed Agyei, but shot wide. In the end it was Van der Linden who headed over.

In the second half, OFC player Eric Veerman had an opportunity. His bet was just turned by Alessandro Damen. After Luuk Admiraal came on the field, it was Spakenburg that struck the clock. That led in the 73e minute to Admiral’s opening goal. He finished off a pass from Dekker: 0-1. Admiral forced Agyei to a clever save. Just before time he rewarded his good substitute with his second.

OFC remains the red lantern bearer in the second division due to the defeat.

Quick Boys – Young FC Volendam 4-2

29′ Joey Antoniolic 2-1
33′ Ravelino Junte 3-1

It was Joey Antonioli who got the first chance of the match. He tested goalkeeper Paul van der Helm. A few minutes later, the Katwijkers took the lead via Youssef El Kachati: 1-0. Quick Boys proved effective, because the second big chance was also a goal. This time Jim Beers (former FC Volendam) was the scorer. After half an hour, the Volendam reserves came back into the game, after Antonioli scored from a free kick: 2-1. The visitors’ euphoria was short-lived, as Ravelino Junte made it 3-1 three minutes later.

El Kachati extended his side’s margin in the second half by scoring. The striker did not fail eye to eye with Kayne van Oevelen and thus made his second of the afternoon. After a foul by Van der Helm in the penalty area, Volendam was awarded a penalty. This one was missed by Antonioli. Just before time, Milan de Haan made it 4-2, but the result was not changed.

With the win, Quick Boys is the new leader, while Jong Volendam is in fifteenth place.

Royal HFC will play against TEC tomorrow. Kick-off is at 2:30 PM.
