Again and again it was speculated via a Formula 1 comeback by Sebastian Vettel. Now the German is clearing a clear cancellation.
Sebastian Vettel doesn’t think of a comeback in Formula 1 – also because his family doesn’t want that. The four -time world champion explained in the “Hardenacle” podcast “Hardenacche meets”: “The kids also said that I couldn’t start driving anymore because it is so nice that I am there. Of course it’s great when you hear that.”
Since its resignation in late 2022, the Hesse has been involved in various social projects – and feels comfortable with its new everyday life. The 37-year-old assured that he is not yet getting on his family. “Family peace is still there.” He also emphasized: “I am very satisfied, I don’t get bored.” He learned a lot about himself during this time.
For him, the focus is on the time with the family. The time with the adolescents is limited, so he attaches particular importance to it. Together with his wife Hanna, Vettel lives with the three children in Switzerland. He is currently training as a farmer at the Pfäffikon vocational training center.
It is open whether there will be a return to motorsport in a different role. Red Bull consultant Helmut Marko had recently brought Vettel into play as his own possible successor. Vettel himself left the topic open: “You will see whether this will be in the future.”
In addition, he is also in conversations with Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali about a possible function in the leadership of the racing series. How this could look concrete is still unclear. “We are still filing what it could look like. But I don’t want to impose myself there either,” said Vettel.
