“Some wild orchids in the Netherlands are not super shaking,” says Renske Diek of Natuurmonumenten. “By the way, we call the native orchids orchises. But it is almost always the thick pink reed orches and spotted orchisses that you encounter. In addition, there are species that are much rarer.”
And much harder to find because they are small and pale green, we then of course noticed Noord-Holland with Renske on an expedition in the Het Hol nature reserve, which was closed to the public.
