Arctic Monkeys have released a music video for “Sculptures Of Anything Goes”. The song was released on 21 October 2022 on THE CAR, the Sheffield band’s seventh studio album. After the three album releases, it is the fourth music video. The album’s debut release, There’d Better Be a Mirrorball, was also directed by singer Alex Turner, and Ben Chappell is the creative director of the new video. In it, the band can be seen before and finally during a performance of the song, and as is so often the case, the focus is on the face of the band Turner.

Guitarist Jamie Cook “got a Moog synthesizer with a drum machine and made the sound,” the singer explained in an interview with Dutch radio station NPO 3FM. “The song reminds me a bit of the wild side of the 2013 AM record. Feels like there’s still a little bit of that dust left.” The two wrote the track together. Aside from “Jet Skies on the Moat” and “Mr Schwartz,” which Turner co-wrote with Milburn guitarist Tom Rowley, Turner is solely responsible for the rest of the songs.

The group goes on a world tour with THE CAR, which is influenced by art rock and jazz. The shows in Austria and Germany are already sold out. The 10-track work was third on the UK best-selling records of 2022, yet still marked the band’s first album not to top the UK charts.
