SCOTCH & SODA PARTNERS WITH INDIESTAD TO LAUNCH A TALENT COMPETITION IN AMSTERDAM

The first round of Zonneprijs will take place on Thursday 6 October from 19:00. Bands and solo artists can now register via www.indiestad.nl/zonneprijs. After registering, they have the chance to be invited to the upcoming round each month. The total of eight rounds will take place in the iconic Zonnehuis in Amsterdam North.

In addition to the physical stage, the artists participating in the Zonneprijs competition will also receive media exposure during their participation. Indiestad and Scotch & Soda will work with participants to create content for their own channels and also for radio stations KINK FM and Oedipus Brewing.

For more than 10 years, Paradiso has been presenting new bands from all over the world at various locations in Amsterdam under the name Indiestad. With the popular Indiestadpas you can visit more than 52 concerts per year and discover new bands for 35 euros. Zonnehuis is the first talent competition organized by Indiestad.

Ben Kamsma, program director at Paradiso for more than 30 years and founder of Indiestad, explains: “There is just so much local talent in Amsterdam and beyond. We’ve been looking for a way to give this talent an appropriate stage for a long time. Then the Zonnehuis, who we work with through Stadsherstel, became available every Thursday evening. By that point, I was already speaking to Scotch & Soda about talent development in Amsterdam and it all fell into place.” Scotch & Soda Paradiso is partnering with fashion and lifestyle brand Scotch & Soda to facilitate the talent competition.
