Inspired by the beats of Amsterdam, the Fall/Winter 2023 collection celebrates the never-ending joy of music. The collection appeals to the youthful energy, optimism and sense of community that music brings by reimagining easy-to-wear pieces with fun prints, feel-good prints and the fun-loving details that are the brand’s signature. In keeping with the changing seasons, the collection offers a complete wardrobe that can be worn again and again, from styles for school to functional outerwear and chic holiday looks.
Music-inspired graphics, prints and quotes set the pace this season, like record store artwork on a boys’ black t-shirt that pairs well with corduroy cargo joggers. For girls, a cassette player and music notes are scrawled on a loose-fitting hoodie, while “The Amsterdam Beat” is printed on the front of an organic cotton t-shirt. Unique prints inspired by music festivals and parties can also be found in the collection. Highlights include an all-over disco tie-dye print for girls – seen on a printed tape midi dress and pleated skirt – as well as an all-over stereo print and festival print for boys, set on a printed one T-shirt or sweatshirt appear.
Knitwear is easy to mix and match and comes in a range of patterns and colours, like a textured intarsia knit with an abstract red flame pattern for boys and a pink mélange jumper with a playful knotted front for girls. A nod to Scotch & Soda’s iconic slogan, the boys’ intarsia cardigan is worn with the loose-fitting corduroy Dean. It reads “The free spirit of Amsterdam” on the front and “Have a nice day” on the sleeve, underscoring the brand’s cheerful optimism.
Transitional jackets and winter coats are particularly popular this season. For boys, a light colour-block jacket and a leather biker jacket with a sweat hood are ideal for school, while an organic cotton jacket with revealing artwork is a highlight of the collection. A midnight blue pea coat – also in the girls’ collection – and a padded parka with REPREVE® filling are real wardrobe essentials for the winter season. For girls, a printed reversible bomber jacket is uniquely functional on bright days, while an oversized varsity jacket with “Music is love” printed on the back is a new, playful take on a classic. A faux fur trucker jacket with a fun “The vibe is alright” patch on the inside and a leopard print lining adds extra cheer to outdoor adventures.
Another highlight are the school-ready looks, from a dip-dyed sweat dress with “Let the music play” written on the chest and back, to a reversible parka for girls and a casual organic cotton crew-neck hoodie for boys.
A jacquard knit dress and loose, tapered jacquard pants for boys and an eyelet dress, jumper with rhinestones and glittery midi skirt for girls celebrate the holiday season. A green corduroy blazer with matching skirt for girls can be dressed up as well as casual, while an embellished midnight blue blazer with matching high-rise trousers makes for a sophisticated yet playful set.
Amsterdam’s Blauw denim – the centerpiece of any back-to-school wardrobe – is updated with new fits, washes and details that put the focus on everyday serenity. Worn with a teddy jacket, the unisex Spirit jean – a relaxed, tailored cut – delivers the ultimate in festival style with its music-inspired motifs, fun embroidery and colorful brushstrokes. The Verve, a relaxed denim jogger, is a new fit for boys, while the super-loose Fling is introduced for girls.
A highlight of the collection are the unique motifs and quotes inspired by the iconic bands Pink Floyd and Blondie, paying homage to the music loved across generations. The sophisticated style of the Pink Floyd motifs appears on a unisex denim jacket, while Blondie artwork is printed on a girls’ organic cotton t-shirt.
The highlight of the Amsterdam Record Store collection – available for boys – celebrates the brand’s partnership with some of the city’s most well-known music stores and includes a yellow sweatshirt and purple hoodie by Velvet and Mary Go Wild respectively.
Scotch & Soda introduces new and quality garments and launches a range of unisex models featuring the brand’s new “Free Spirit Peace Bird” as a small logo on the chest or as artwork. The collection includes t-shirts and sweatshirts available in new season colors and classic colors.
