Scoring Ould-Chikh firmly believes in Volendam enforcement: “It’s realistic”

A great goal from Bilal Ould-Chikh after three minutes gave FC Volendam a dream start in the cellar cracker against Vitesse. Still, the Eel farmers were lucky that the match ended 1-1. “I think it’s realistic that we stay in it.”

“Every point counts,” was Bilal Ould-Chikh’s first thought after the final whistle. “I think the 1-1 also corresponds to the match image.” FC Volendam does not make much progress with this result. The club from the fishing village remains seventeenth, which means direct relegation at the end of the season.

Three times the bar

While Ould-Chikh thought that both teams were evenly matched, the neutral spectator will draw a slightly different conclusion. The Arnhem team was much more threatening and hit the crossbar three times. “Only the ball doesn’t go in,” said a smiling Ould-Chikh. “In the field I didn’t have the feeling that Vitesse was really playing well.”

“Chocolate Leg”

The highlight for FC Volendam was Ould-Chikh’s goal after three minutes of play. The attacker from Blaricum dribbled across half the field and after a false kick he neatly shot the ball into the right corner. “With my chocolate leg and I think a very nice hit.”

It is striking that Ould-Chikh has only scored two goals this season. A player with so much class, but rarely so effective. “I often ask myself that question.” The creative winger already has five assists. “I’m trying to get into double figures there.”
